For the first time in history of Andhra Pradesh, Samrita Trust converted all the text books of Govt. of Andhra Pradesh from class 1 to 10, for both Telugu medium and English medium into Braille script and delivered them to National Institute for Visually Handicapped, Regional Centre, Chennai. On receipt of orders from the different schools, and SarvaSikshaAbhiyan of Govt of AP, NIVH embossed the text books in braille and supplied them. On bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, whenever text books are revised, Samrita Trust will continue to convert the new text books into braille and deliver them to NIVH, Chennai for embossing and supply to schools.
Text books of Class 1 to 10 published by Govts. of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana , for Telugu and English Medium, are available from National Institute of Visually Handicapped(NIVH), Chennai. Click List of text books in Brailleto see the complete list of books available. These books can be obtained from NIVH, Chennai by placing orders by individual schools with blind students on their rolls. The order must include list of books required with nominal rolls of blind students and their thumb impressions. Address of NIVH is given below:-

Text books in Braille format(.brf) are available in www.oblindia.org for download. Organisations with Braille embossers interested to emboss them and issue to blind students can get the text books in .brf format from the website.
